![]() In Alpine Ridge, you make your way through the obstacle course. Cliff Town has you find and flame all of the cauldrons in the level to collect the gems. In Peacekeepers Home, you use the cannons to break open the treasure chests. Moreover how are you doing the same thing in every level? The first game may lack the minigames of the sequels, but there are many different quests/missions to complete. So why is Spyro 1 the one called "standard"? Compared to what? Both games released in the same summer when both only had Super Mario 64 as a reference point. ![]() Why does he describe Spyro 1 as a Banjo-like game? Not only does this diminish Spyro's role in pioneering the 3D collectathon-platformer, but it ignores that more people would be familiar with Spyro rather than Banjo-Kazooie since the former outsold the latter. I like Caddy, but the guy has a unique talent in glossing over the significance of some games.
